A cobalt-based coordination capsule decorated with a NADH mimic was elaborately formulated as an electron reservoir for accepting a single electron consecutively to efficiently regenerate the NADH mimic for α-hydroxy/amino esters production through pseudo-intramolecular hydride transfer, thereby providing insights into the electron transfer regulation for biomimetic electrosynthesis.
